about me

I am a Professor of Mathematical Optimisation at the School of Mathematics of University of Birmingham. I received the B.Sc. degree in Applied Mathematics from Sun Yat-sen University and the PhD degree in Mathematics from SUNY Buffalo. After my PhD degree, I did postdoctoral research at Northwestern University and MIT respectively. I subsequently held faculty positions at Shanghai Jiao Tong University and University of Liverpool, before taking up my current post at Birmingham.

My current research interests are in scientific computing, computational statistics, uncertainty quantification, data science and their applications in various scientific and engineering problems.

I am recruiting a Ph.D student with studentship support, working in the field of Uncertainty Quantification and Data Science.
